University of Copenhagen seeks letters of interest for a new position as Professor in Basic Metabolic Research.

University of Copenhagen seeks letters of interest for a new position as Professor in Basic Metabolic Research, to be held at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research, Copenhagen.

The Center was established in 2010, funded by a generous unrestricted grant from the Novo Nordisk Foundation. The Center is an integral part of Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, at the University of Copenhagen. The vision of the Center is to be an international hub of excellence in interdisciplinary basic metabolic research. Our aim is to discover fundamental metabolic processes that underpin the development of novel diagnostics and prevention/treatment strategies for important metabolic diseases, which will be transformative to ‘society-at-large’. The central focus on basic metabolic research is currently complemented by a strong translational ethos through collaborations with specialized clinical units such as the new Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen.

The Candidate
The successful candidate will receive a competitive package including significant start-up funds, and be part of a vibrant scientific environment in the new research building - the Mærsk Tower at our Campus (https://maersktower.ku.dk/). We expect that you will be a talented scientist, and that you will be leading your own independent program with a research focus that is innovative and pioneering the field of metabolic disease. Preference will be given to those who can establish effective collaborations leading to transformative fundamental research and innovation.
